Corporate governance
To assist our clients in achieving the returns on their investments that they expect, we seek high standards of transparency, corporate governance and social responsibility from the companies in which we invest.
This involves monitoring and entering into dialogue with companies on key aspects of their corporate governance and their relationship with society as a whole. Engaging with companies through individual meetings and other correspondence is another important part of our commitment to good governance.
As a major owner and manager of property we are also proactive in the management of energy, waste and water, including on our own premises.
We work actively to improve governance standards and encourage responsible investment.
Through our responsible investment funds we also have a specific focus of investing in industries of the future, which are companies expected to have future increased demand for their products or services.
AMP Capital is a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI). These principles aim to provide an internationally agreed framework to help institutional investors incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues into investment decision making and ownership practices.
