We use a number of strategies to actively manage and add value to our cash portfolios.
Our approach to managing cash investments starts with fundamental analysis, focusing on the outlook for monetary policy but also considering market sentiment, domestic and global economic data and the performance of the New Zealand dollar.
These views and our conviction in them help to determine our portfolio exposures. We then adjust these exposures using an in-house management tool which estimates the forward looking active risk of the portfolio in total and for each of the key drivers of alpha within it – duration, yield curve and credit.
